NieR: Automata is a hybird hack-and-slash/shoot-em-up in an open world, as a further spin-off of the original NieR: Gestalt (US version)/NieR: Replicant (Japan Version), itself a spin-off of the original Drakengard, however, knowledge of the story of either game is not required for full enjoyment of NieR: Automata.
In the distant future, a mysterious invading alien race unleashed Machine Lifeforms that drove humanity from Earth. The human response was an army of Android soldiers, sparking a series of wars that lasted years upon years, even further into the future. The latest attempt to break this stalemate is the YoRHa Project: state of the art combat Androids.
Play as YoRHa Androids 2B, 9S, and A2 to destroy the Machine threat and restore human control of Earth through multiple routes and subsequent endings, by eliminating the Machine threat wherever it pops up, helping the Android Resistance with whatever they require, and gathering equipment to improve your combat capabilities... or so it all seems.
This game uses the DX11 API, and Denuvo Anti-Piracy software.
